Shipping Policy
Old Salt pays for shipping on your order. We ship for free world wide. The shipping is included in your purchase. We ship using the regular-rate tracked shipping service from Canada Post and the package will arrive as per Canada Post's shipping estimations for your region. Please see Canada Post's website for details on shipping times to your region.
If you need expedited shipping, please contact us and we will set this up for you. Please note: you will be responsible for paying for expedited shipping.

The customer is responsible to pay for excise and duties on all international orders (e.g. orders that are shipped outside of Canada).
Return & Exchange Policy

Please submit your information using our contact page. When we receive your request to return the item, we will issue you a return authorization number via email. It can take up to 24 hours for us to respond to emails and we apologize for this inconvenience.
If you are not happy with the order, you can return it to Old Salt and we will refund the cost of the product WITHIN 14 days of receiving your product. More specifically, within 14 days of the product's arrival at your door, you can begin the process to return it. The product must be in ORIGINAL PACKAGING and UNWORN (e.g. original condition). There are exceptions to the return policy (please see below for FINAL sales items).
After 14 days, we only refund on defective products. Our warranty on craftmanship defects is one year.
We do not warranty stones for longevity. In particular, we want to stress that care of stones is essential but soft stones need particular attention. Some of the soft stones that we carry regularly include pearls and turquoise. Don't wear soft stones in water, expose to chemicals or perfumes. If you'd like to learn more about the hardness of a stone, please search the MOHs scale and hardness of gemstones.

We have no control over shipping deliveries and do not refund on tardy deliveries.
Shipping refunds on products you don't like
If you are returning because you do not like the product, we will not refund the cost of return shipping.
We only refund shipping if the product is damaged as a result of shipping from us to you or our own failed quality control on the product. In other words, we pay for shipping when there is an issue or error from our end.
We do not pay for shipping because you have changed your mind, misread the listing (e.g. sterling silver vs. plated silver), or made an error such as not properly sizing your wrist or finger.
If the product arrives damaged. Please take photos of the damage when you are unpacking and save for us to review. When you receive your return authorization number, you can include the photos in your reply.
Old Salt will send you a replacement of the damaged product, if possible and pay for the shipping of the replacement item. Alternatively, Old Salt may refund your payment, if there isn't a suitable replacement.
Please note the process of this: first we replace defective items and if not possible, then we refund.
If there is damage to the item upon arrival, you will need to show us this. It is not always possible to replace with an exact match and will make every effort to match as closely (similar) as possible. If we are unable to replace the item, then we will refund your money for that specific item.

*Note for international returns and this is specific to those who have changed their mind about a purchase and/or product and would like to return it for a refund: We do not refund shipping, customs, duties, or any other costs related to return shipping on international orders. In other words, the customer pays for return shipping and any costs associated to the original shipment of the product.

Processing time
Please allow 5-7 business days for your return to be processed.
All sales are FINAL on the following items / types of items (more specifically, we do not refund on the following):​

Earrings (for hygienic reasons, all sales are final)

Anything that contains pearls and turquoise

Reduced/sale priced items (anything on sale is a final sale)

Personalized or custom work
The FINAL-sales items listed above may not be returned or exchanged. If there are issues with the quality or damage during shipping of FINAL-priced items, please contact us with details and follow the return procedure outlined in the section above. But, these items can not be returned. because you have changed your mind or for other reasons.
Certificates of authentication
We do not issues certificates of authentication.
A NOTE ABOUT HANDMADE
Handmade products are not machined by tools. As a result, there are some inconsistencies in shape and depth/thickness and polymer clay products can have little imperfections on the product and in particular on the back of the product. These imperfections are minor.
Jewellery findings and parts
There can be imperfections in some of the findings that we use. The imperfections are often out of the control of the manufacturer. Old Salt discards poor quality findings but if we have missed one, please let us know. Take a photo and send it to us, we will send you a new one. If we no longer have the product, we will refund your money for the imperfect item only. This applies to findings only and not hand-rolled polymer clay or gemstones.
Imperfections are a result of the process and mentioned only because those who are unfamiliar with handmade may not understand the difference in process between machine tooled and handmade.
Controlling the process in handmade to the same degree as machines is nearly impossible. However, the imperfections are part of the charm. If you are looking for absolute perfection, these products may not be suitable.
